Campus Advantage Expands Its Presence in San Diego Market with the Addition of New Construction Property to Its Management Portfolio
AUSTIN, Texas – July 12, 2013 –San Diego State University (SDSU) officials and community leaders joined with representatives from Campus Advantage and Village Lindo Paseo to officially open Friday (July 12) San Diego’s newest student housing community, The Suites on Paseo, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The Suites on Paseo includes 287 units with a total bed count of 384. Its close proximity to the SDSU campus – right across the street from the university — make it a convenient option for students. The community also offers full food service, and students have several meal plan options from which to choose.
The student housing community also features several innovative, sustainable features, such as using fuel cells to produce natural gas for the property. Another option includes a floor plan in which the unit’s bathroom recycles water running down the drain of the sink, using it to flush the toilet and reducing overall water usage.
The property’s amenities include outdoor billiards in the community’s courtyard, housekeeping services, the Flex fitness center, Paseo Projections movie theater, HD Mystic tanning and lounges scattered throughout the property. The property also features the Brick Oven Bistro, which is led by renowned chef Michael C. Brown. From healthy meal options to gourmet-style pizzas made-to-order in its brick oven, the onsite restaurant offers convenient meal choices to fit the many different lifestyles of residents.
“When it comes to amenities and convenience, SDSU students have never had as many options as they do at The Suites on Paseo,” said Mike Peter, CEO and Co-Founder of Campus Advantage. “Residents also will benefit from our highly rated Students First residence life programs that will help them succeed in school as well as help them prepare for life after graduation.”
The Suites on Paseo will expand Campus Advantage’s presence in the San Diego market. The student housing company already manages the Fifty Twenty-Five student housing community that also serves SDSU students. Campus Advantage’s roots in San Diego run deep. Peter is a former assistant manager of San Diego’s former El Conquistador residence hall, which is now known as University Towers.
Meanwhile, The Suites on Paseo will welcome its first guests on July 17 when it starts serving participants in summer camps. In August, it will see its first year-round resident move in as they prepare for the start of the fall semester.
The Suites on Paseo was developed by DEP and built by Strategy Builders.
