MOVE-IN FEST 2016
CAMPUS ADVANTAGE PROPERTIES KICK OFF THIS YEAR’S MOVE-IN FESTIVITIES.
Each year, employees throughout the student housing industry embark on a somewhat stressful, but definitely exciting time of year: move-in season. To keep spirits up and to welcome new residents to their communities, Campus Advantage creates a theme each year to get on-site staff excited and residents immediately feeling the sense of community that sets Campus Advantage apart from other student housing providers. This year’s move-in was no different, and with a music festival theme, Move-In Fest 2016 kicked off to much excitement and even more creativity.
This year’s theme was chosen after all Campus Advantage employees were invited to submit theme ideas and vote on their favorite submissions. By far, a music festival theme was the winner and called out the Campus Advantage roots of being located right here in the live music capital of the world. On-site staff took the initial theme even further by creating flower crown stations, photo booths, decorations, and more to bring Move-In Fest to life.
The fun doesn’t stop after move-in, and we look forward to kicking off the renewal season with just as much excitement. As the festival continues, residents can get special early-bird pricing the earlier they sign, and we expect to see a lot of fun tie-ins to the theme as October nears. Good luck to everyone as you settle in to the new leasing year, and we can’t wait to see what’s in store.
PROPERTY SPOTLIGHT: MILLENNIUM
In November 2015, Campus Advantage took over management of Millennium in Norman, OK, a 696-bed property that serves the University of Oklahoma. The upscale property is located one mile from campus and offers a resort-style pool, outdoor TVs, balconies or patios for each apartment, and more. In recent months, the site team has worked diligently to deliver first-class customer service and is on a first-name basis with every resident, an accomplishment that is not overlooked. The leasing team’s hard work resulted in 58.49% of residents renewing, and they were able to lease up to 96% for the 2016-17 year. We look forward to seeing more from the team at Millennium in the coming year!

CAMPUS ADVANTAGE DONATES $200,000 TO RELAY FOR LIFE
In 2013, Campus Advantage became a National Corporate Team Partner with the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life. Since then, thanks to staff and residents of Campus Advantage, we have contributed over $200,000 to truly make a difference in the fight against cancer. Just ask one of the nearly 14 million cancer survivors who will celebrate another birthday this year!
At these events, Relay For Life teams camp out overnight and take turns walking or running around a track or path. These events are up to 24 hours long, and because cancer never sleeps, each team is asked to have at least one participant on the track at all times. We are so thankful to all of our residents, team members, and supporters who have helped us to make such a big difference for an important cause!
FINDING THE CORNERSTONE OF EMPLOYEE TRAINING
To better serve the training needs of the company’s dispersed teams, the Department of Employee Engagement and Training elected to move away from its previous learning management system (LMS) and partner with the nationally known company, Cornerstone OnDemand. Cornerstone OnDemand is a leader in cloud-based applications for talent management, with solutions to help organizations recruit, train, manage, and connect their employees, empowering their people and increasing workforce productivity. Cornerstone OnDemand’s services are used by national companies such as Walgreens and Hyatt, and several colleges and universities across the country.
This new platform, which we are calling the “Campus Advantage Academy,” rolled out April 1 with additional tools and resources added constantly to better support our employees. As the department continues to build out the new LMS, Campus Advantage employees are able to utilize the Campus Advantage Academy for its prime function of hosting and reporting on detailed and robust onboarding and learning curriculums for each employee, as well as training plans for those who are looking to advance to a new role in the future. Content experts from across the company are collaborating with Kelly Vickroy, Director of Employee Engagement and Training, to create intentional and interactive training courses and documents to ensure employees have all of the tools and knowledge they need to be successful.
In addition, employees will have access to a companywide, customizable employee profile directory as well as community groups where they will be able to engage and collaborate with employees from across the company on projects, best practices, and spreading mojo.

CAMPUS ADVANTAGE HOSTS CAMP CA: BRING YOUR KIDS TO WORK DAY
Earlier this month, Campus Advantage decided to liven things up in the office and give our employees’ children a chance to see all the great things their moms and dads do when they go to work with the first inaugural CAMP CA: Bring Your Kids to Work Day.
The corporate team welcomed our newest (and youngest) employees for a day with a full schedule of fun activities, including an office scavenger hunt, a nature walk, arts and crafts, yoga and dance time, fort-building, and more. The kids had a great time, with many of them begging mom/dad to come back to work with them the next day!
